Review: Secrets Akumal

We returned home from our Babymoon with nothing but great memories from the adults-only Secrets Akumal - an all-inclusive about an hour and a half (by shared direct transfer) south of Cancun, Mexico.

Akumal is known for its five breathtaking bays, which are home to majestic green sea turtles. It is a rare gem along the Riviera Maya coast where you can wake up, walk to the beach and be snorkeling with turtles and coral reef wildlife within minutes of starting your day.

The resort is an oasis of lush & tropical flora and fauna literally bounces around (e.g. - named iguanas that live on the property, and coati - think racoon meets lemur meets anteater) which we would often see on our walks around the property. This resort is compact, the winding paths are surrounded by palms and bright florals, and, at night, the pathways twinkle with light.
