Ahoy Seffrood & Wright Family’s!

In another few weeks, it'll be time to start talking about transportation and hotel stay prior to your Disney Cruise in April!

I received a question about flying from Rockford, and I wouldn't recommend that since there are no flights to Orlando every day of the week. Instead, your best departure airports are MilwaukeeO'Hare or Midway.I can attempt to coordinate as many of you on the same flight, but you're welcome to fly from separate locations if you prefer.

Southwest Airlines will (likely) be my recommendation since we'll be able to get you all on a nonstop with 3+ routes to consider daily, however their flight schedule won't release until August 27th.

For a pre-cruise resort stay, there's no better way than to step right into the magic a night or two early, and stay at a Disney Resort! Pop Century and Art of Animation (Little Mermaid rooms, or Family suites) are a budget-friendly option, with a little bonusBonus: Both are Skyliner resorts and are a great activity to catch a sunset, dinner on the Boardwalk or just for fun! Plus, these two resorts offer multiple themed pools, on-site shopping & dining, and make luggage transfer easy on the morning of your cruise.

When staying at a Disney resort, I recommend adding Disney Cruise Line's ground transportation.  They make it so simple to leave your bags in your room, and go straight to your transfer -- your bags will actually meet you outside your cabin door on the ship! (Tip: pack a small carry-on bag for embarkation.) This service is currently $45 per person, each way (guests 3 & up) and is great because you also get expedited boarding & are first on the ship! 2027 pricing hasn't been officially released yet, but when it is, I'll confirm any price changes.

We can also protect all components of your trip with travel protection, including medical and post-departure coverage, which I can quote for you once these components are known.

What I will need to understand for your family's airfare:

  • Preferred Travel Dates -- I recommend flying in the day before your cruise (minimum). Any flights returning home post-cruise should depart after Noon (earliest).

  • Preferred airport: Milwaukee (MKE), O'Hare (ORD), Midway (MDW)

  • Do you have a Known Traveler Number (KTN) [have TSA PreCheck or Global Entry?)

  • Southwest Airline Rewards Number if you have one. If not, enroll here for free

    • If you prefer a different airline please let me know

    • Prefer to book with points, please let me know!

  • Any seating preferences for your family?

    • Do you prefer aisle/window, extra legroom, upgraded seats, or business class?

  • Any pre-board concerns for mobility/medical?

Reach out with any questions in the meantime, or feel free to send along any preferences/details above and I can give more details once flights drop in a few weeks!

Looking forward to chatting soon!
